Ibiza has lots of small villages along with the six or seven main resorts and towns of the Island. Starting with Ibiza Town also known as Eivissa, this is the largest town and is considered to be the capital of Ibiza. The second largest town is San Antonio which is also known as a popular resort for holiday makers. When visiting Ibiza town, you will first be drawn to the Sa Penya and Sa Marina districts near the port. These areas overlooking the harbour are full of smart restaurants and trendy boutiques, its uniqueness making it the most popular shopping areas of the island. The capital of the island is Ibiza Town (Eivissa) which is at a distance of 7km from the airport. Island of Ibiza is a true aggregate of 3M's being Magical, Mystical and Mysterious. It is Magical because of its dense flora and fauna such as the rich red soil which is non-volcanic. The island forbids survival to any reptile, animal, insect or plant that can harm human. To this day many people wear amulets and pendants containing the sacred soil to protect them from any harm.

According to the predictions of Nostradamus, the 15th century French astrologer and physician, when nuclear disaster wipes out most life on earth, the peculiar prevailing wind patterns over Ibiza will ensure that it is the sole remaining life supporting environment. Supporting its Mysterious content, the island of Es Vedra rising from the waters of Cala D'Hort supports no venomous living thing. The Carmelite priest Don Francisco Palau, founder of the convent at Es Cubells, meticulously recorded mystical revelations and meetings with 'unearthly beings surrounded by lights' while meditating there. Gigantic circles of light, up to 50 meters diameter, emerging from the sea have discouraged fishermen from this area. A strong magnetic force is said to emanate from Es Vedra, attracting unexplained phenomenon.

Laws of the road

In Spain we drive on left side which is different from England. In Spain and Ibiza all roads are very similar and the higway code exists like all countries. There are some variations in the road signs, which are mostly common sense. In Ibiza we still have police and we have strict drinking and driving laws. Ibiza's roads are not all lit up with street lights and this can make driving at night very tricky. Police do travel around in unmarked cars looking for bad drivers and many road blocks are created during the high season to keep control of drinking and driving. Spanish drivers who live on the Island aswell as Taxis know the roads well and will travel alot faster than normal.
